Working together for Airport advertising

The Initiative Airport Media (IAM) is a consolidation of 17 airports in Germany, Austria and Switzerland with a view to pooling the interests of the airport marketers.

Since 2006, the members of the IAM have been meeting regularly to discuss and exchange experience on the latest trends and developments and resolve on cross-sector marketing measures. Together, the large and small airports plan campaigns and events to bring the topic of airport advertising and its almost boundless possibilities to the attention of the decision-makers and advertisers. All airports in the German Airports Association (ADV) and the Vienna and Zurich Airports are represented in the Initiative Airport Media. Every year, the 17 airports of the IAM reach more than 200 million passengers in the German-speaking countries.

In the past few years, more and more advertisers have recognised the advantages of airport advertising. Whether it is indoor, outdoor, XXL, promotions or digital signage – airports offer enormous scope for attention-grabbing advertising campaigns. The IAM has also introduced the “Airport Media Award” which is presented for particularly creative ideas and campaigns. Every month, on the website a decision-maker from Marketing or Media selects the most creative advertising at airports in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
